Piers Thompson is a DJ, film-maker and promoter. He founded London’s original Rare Groove club, The Soul Furnace, and continues to surprise and delight discerning Ravers in London and beyond. His sound has been described as ‘a fine and rare groove, where Old Skool meets Guilty Pleasures and they make out’. Thompson has a residency at Novikov, where he plays mainly Deep House. He also has a weekly radio show, Portobello Radio, which is regularly in Mixcloud’s Funk, Reggae and Blues chart. He is also a regular at Bez’s Acid House, the busiest dance tent at Glastonbury, is on the roster of DJs at The Groucho and has annual Carnival parties at The Salusbury and The Cow.
Recently, he has played at Glastonbury, St John, ETA and at Cannes for Ealing Studios; wrap parties for Ealing and Working Title; weddings for Dan Chadwick, Ian Wright, Paul Rowe, Gaby Tana, and various Arnold Henderson clients; a CBE celebration for Betty Jackson, after parties for Max Wigram Gallery, charity events for the Parkinson’s Appeal, the public opening of the Roth Bar in Somerset, Trevor Beattie’ s celebration at BMB, Electric Santa and the Ski Lodge parties. He is on the roster for Deliciously Sorted in Ibiza where he usually plays anything but House.
